VINING, CARL ANDERSONA retired millwright and a member of Local 720 in Baton Rouge, he died Monday, July 10, 2000, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington. He was 84 and a native and resident of Ponchatoula.
Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Russell Vining. Interment in Collins Cemetery.
Survived by his wife, Ruby Jean Traylor Vining, Ponchatoula; a daughter, Joy Elizabeth Eubanks, Spartanburg, S.C.; two sons, Carl David Vining, Folsom, and Russell Keith Vining, Ponchatoula; eight grandchildren, Jason Keith Vining, Steven Vining, Elizabeth Eubanks, James Vining, Chris Vining, Jonathan Eubanks, Nicholas Vining and Rebkah Vining; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Vining, Benjamin Vining, Shawn Vining and Timothy Vining.
Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elanor Vining; six sisters, Hilda Stanga, Helen Larpenter, Irene Anderson, Hattie Bosarge, Nellie Bazelle and Katie Bardwell; and a brother, Richard Willie Vining.
He wasa charter member of Bible Holiness Church, Ponchatoula, a member of National Rifle Association and honorary mayor of Bunker Hill.
